Frequently asked questions
It depends on the question.
- Questions about a film or your purchase? Contact the filmmaker directly at the email listed on your purchase confirmation. Every release is sold by the filmmaker, so they're your first stop for anything about the film itself.
- Trouble watching, casting, or accessing your film? Cinesoft can help at support@cinesoft.io.
- Questions about a charge, receipt, or refund? Payments are processed by Stripe. Your receipt has everything you need. The refund and billing contact is on your purchase confirmation.
Your purchase is tied to your email address. No account or password needed. Go to the storefront where you bought the film, enter the email you used at checkout, and we'll send you a fresh watch link. Links are single-use for your security, so request a new one any time.
If you're having trouble casting to your TV, this guide explains which devices are supported and how casting works across different TV brands and technologies.
How casting works
Casting compatibility depends on the technology your TV supports:
- Chromecast (Google Cast) is used primarily by Android devices.
- AirPlay is used by Apple devices.
- Some streaming apps work on certain TVs because they have dedicated TV apps. That's different from casting directly from a website.
- Not all TVs support all casting technologies.
iPhone, iPad, and Mac (Apple devices)
Apple devices cast with AirPlay.
| TV brand / type | AirPlay support | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Samsung Smart TV (recent models) | Yes | Enable AirPlay in TV settings |
| LG Smart TV (recent models) | Yes | Enable AirPlay in TV settings |
| Sony Smart TV (some models) | Varies by model | Check your TV's specifications |
| Roku TV (supported models) | Yes | Enable AirPlay in TV settings |
| Apple TV device | Yes | Fully supported |
| TVs without AirPlay | No | Casting not available |
Requirements: your Apple device and TV must be on the same Wi-Fi network, AirPlay must be enabled in your TV settings, and your TV must support AirPlay.
Android devices (Samsung, Google Pixel, other Android phones)
Android devices cast with Chromecast (Google Cast).
| TV brand / type | Chromecast support | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| TVs with built-in Chromecast | Yes | Fully supported |
| Chromecast device (connected to TV) | Yes | External device required |
| Sony TV (Android TV / Google TV models) | Yes | Most Android/Google TV models supported |
| Samsung Smart TV | Some models | Only if built-in Chromecast is supported |
| LG Smart TV | Some models | Only if built-in Chromecast is supported |
| Roku TV | No | Roku does not support Google Cast |
| TVs without Chromecast | No | Casting not available |
Requirements: your Android device and TV must be on the same Wi-Fi network, your TV must support Chromecast, and Chromecast must be enabled in your TV settings.
Why your TV may not appear
If your TV doesn't show up in the casting list, it likely doesn't support the casting technology your device uses. Apple devices require AirPlay. Android devices require Chromecast.
Still can't connect?
- Confirm both devices are on the same Wi-Fi network.
- Restart your TV and your device.
- Verify AirPlay or Chromecast is enabled in your TV settings.
Still can't connect? Email support@cinesoft.io and we'll help.
The filmmaker is the merchant. Payments are processed securely by Stripe, so the charge on your statement and your receipt come from Stripe on the creator's behalf. Cinesoft never sees or stores your card details.
Refund policies are set by the filmmaker you purchased from. Contact them at the email listed on your purchase confirmation with your order details. If a refund is issued, it goes back to your original payment method and you'll receive a confirmation email.
No. Cinesoft Inc. (cinesoft.io) is a direct-to-fan video commerce company based in Denver, Colorado. It is not affiliated with Prism Lens FX, Tide Optics, or any camera filter, lens, or post-production plugin products sometimes marketed as "Cine Soft."
Cinesoft Inc. was founded in 2026 in Denver, Colorado, by Brad Edelson.
Cinesoft is release infrastructure for independent film and long-form video. You get a branded storefront where your audience buys or rents your work directly from you. With DRM streaming, payments, and release windows handled. You keep the revenue, the customer data, and the relationship. We run the infrastructure.
On a streaming platform, the platform owns the customer. On Cinesoft, you do. Every buyer's email, purchase history, and watch behavior belongs to you as first-party data you keep whether or not you stay on Cinesoft. Your storefront carries your brand, your pricing, and your release strategy. Cinesoft stays in the background.
You are the merchant of record. Cinesoft connects your storefront to your own Stripe account, so revenue flows directly to you. Not through us. Payouts land on Stripe's standard schedule, straight to your bank account. Already have a Stripe account? Connect it. Don't have one? Setup takes minutes during onboarding.
Your film is delivered through professional-grade streaming infrastructure with studio-standard DRM. The same protection used by major streaming services. Adaptive playback quality, no downloadable files, and access controlled per purchase. Your master stays yours; we never take rights to your work.
No. A viewer buys with an email address and gets a watch link. When they come back, they enter their email and get a fresh link. No passwords, no account friction, no drop-off at checkout.
Feature films, documentaries, docuseries, comedy specials, and long-form video with a finished master and an audience ready to buy. Cinesoft isn't a discovery platform. It's for creators who already have an audience and need the infrastructure to monetize it directly.
Yes. Set purchase pricing per title, run a pre-sale or premiere window, and move titles through your release lifecycle on your schedule.
They come from you. Purchase confirmations, watch links, and rental notices carry your name and reply to your email address, with a "Powered by Cinesoft" line in the footer. Your audience's relationship is with you, not us.
We're onboarding a founding cohort of creators with white-glove setup. We handle the build, you approve the storefront, and you're live in days, not months. Book a call to see if your release is a fit.
Cinesoft is the release infrastructure behind your clients' direct-to-consumer launches. You bring the talent and the titles; we run the storefronts, streaming, and payments. Your clients keep the audience, the data, and the revenue. And you keep the relationship. One platform across your whole roster instead of a bespoke build per release.
Your client does. Every buyer's email, purchase history, and watch behavior is first-party data owned by the filmmaker. Never held hostage by a platform. That's the point: you're adding a direct revenue channel without handing a client's audience to an aggregator.
Most partnerships start with a single pilot release. One client, one storefront, live in days. From there it's land-and-expand across the roster. We handle onboarding and setup for each release so your team isn't managing infrastructure.
Yes. The partner program is built for deploying and managing multiple creator storefronts across your roster, each fully branded to the individual client. Catalog, windows, entitlements, and revenue splits are handled per release.
No. Cinesoft is infrastructure, not a distributor. We never acquire rights, never take ownership of a title, and never insert ourselves between you and your clients. Use Cinesoft to run a direct window ahead of a platform deal, activate mid-tail library titles, or give filmmaker clients a DTC channel they own.
Book a partner call. We'll scope a pilot release, walk through economics, and map how Cinesoft fits your roster.
